GOTR_Remarkable-Vol-Awards-LogoGirls on the Run South Louisiana is thrilled to announce that local volunteer Jinx Vidrine has been awarded the Girls on the Run Remarkable Volunteer: Fundraiser Award by its national headquarters, Girls on the Run International. The annual Remarkable Volunteer Awards is a national volunteer recognition program designed to shine a light on the inspirational and transformative impact volunteers have on Girls on the Run participants and communities.

Over the past three years, Vidrine has helped make possible more than $44,000 in support for Girls on the Run programming in St. Tammany Parish, ensuring no girl is turned away due to financial barriers. Her support also brought Camp GOTR to a rural community in the parish, sparked a new Snack Captain role now active on 17 teams across the region, and funded a full team with new shoes last spring for girls in a high-need community in another parish. A retired educator, Vidrine remains a valued thought partner and advocate for removing barriers to full participation in the program.

“Volunteers are the heart of the Girls on the Run program. We could not deliver this life-changing experience without their generosity and commitment,” said Carley, Executive Director of Girls on the Run South Louisiana."What sets Jinx apart is how personal her support is. She doesn't just advocate for what girls need, she follows through, right down to delivering fresh produce to the team herself." Last year, Girls on the Run South Louisiana was fortunate to have more than 300 volunteers across our 18 parishes, and this year we are so proud to recognize Jinx with this meaningful award.”

Would you like to carry on Jinx Vidrine's generosity? Every dollar is matched through Friends of Girls on the Run in St. Tammany until Dec 31, 2026. Thank you to all of our remarkable supporters!
