Girls on the Run Alumna: Carmen Duet
As a young girl in Larose, Louisiana, Carmen Duet participated on the South Lafourche and the Holy Rosary Girls on the Run teams. Carmen returned to Girls on the Run 11 years later and now serves as a Girls on the Run coach at Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts.
Carmen shares, "As a Girls on the Run participant, my time was truly special because I was lucky enough to have my mom and my nonna coach my teammates and I. I got to learn important lessons of growing up and being a girl in our generation by two of the most important women in my life. GOTR has left a lasting impact on my character and has filled me with lasting memories."

Now, 11 years later, Carmen is serving as a Girls on the Run coach for the Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts. She says, "I am honored to be a coach of 15 amazing young girls. As a coach, I get to witness each one grow into a beautiful young lady, and I am privileged to help and witness their transformation. As I am still learning how to navigate life, school and career, these girls are my motivation to remain a lasting role model for them."
