Course Map

The 5k Course is a 3.1 mile course around downtown Lafayette and neighborhoods. The 5k participants will pass three water stops. Cheer Teams will also be placed along the course to cheer on the girls and 5K participants.

Packet Pick-Up

Girls who are currently participating in the program are already registered for the 5k and will receive their 5k materials (bibs, pins, goody bags) the week before or morning of the event. For all other 5k participants (Running Buddies, family members and community participants), packet pick-up information is as follows:

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the 5k run take?

Finishing times vary of course, but our fastest runners will complete the run in about 25 minutes. Most runners will fall between 30-45 minutes We will be sweeping the course at one hour from the starting time to ensure all runners have returned to the starting area.

Where should I park?

There is a parking garage (free on weekends) to the left of Parc Sans Souci. We encourage participants to park there or on surrounding streets.

Can I bring my dog or pet?

For safety, all furry friends are not allowed on the course or at the event, so please leave all pets at home on 5K day! All pets will be asked to return to the pet owner's vehicle if spotted at the event.

Can I sign up to participate on event morning?

Yes! Late registration is offered on Friday at Packet Pickup and an hour before the 5k begins. The fee is $30 payable by cash, check or credit card.

Is the Girls on the Run 5k timed?

The Girls on the Run 5k is an untimed event. However, there will be a timing clock at the finish line.

Is the Girls on the Run 5k for 'girls only'?

No. The event is open to the public and we encourage men, women and children of all ages to attend and participate.

Volunteer Registration

Each Girls on the Run 5k event takes over 100 volunteers to be a success. We depend on volunteers to serve as greeters, running buddies, Inspiration Village Booth leaders, water stops and much more. We have a job for everyone who wants to help! 

OPPORTUNITIES
Set Up

Volunteers will help set up event areas and registration. Time commitment is 4 to 5 hours. This volunteer opportunity is best suited for individuals over 16 years of age.

Course Volunteers

Volunteers will assist course safetye, preparing a water station, handing out water cups and cheering on the participants during the 5k event. Time commitment is 3 to 4 hours. These volunteer opportunities are great for parents, teens, and group.

Event Volunteers

Volunteers will help with Inspiration Village and other activities during the 5k event. Time commitment is 3 to 4 hours. These volunteer opportunities are great for parents, teens, and group.

Clean Up

Volunteers will help take down and clean up the event site. Time commitment is 3 to 4 hours. This volunteer opportunity is best suited for individuals over 16 years of age.
